Potter Baseball Tour

Attached is a 3 minute speech made by a player, Zach Salkowski, to his team last year at their banquet (Harford Sox). Zach will be playing on the Potter Baseball Tour team this summer. Zach was introduced at the banquet by Rick Warble, the coach of the Harford Sox. Rick’s son (Ricky) will also be playing on the tour team. Zach and Ricky are both really good baseball players. More importantly, they both are really good kids.

Freeport International Baseball Invitational 2010 Showcase

The Freeport International Showcase, presented by the Paramount Scouting Bureau and National Scouting Report, provides players with an opportunity to be seen by college coaches and professional scouts while receiving an evaluation of their talent. The showcase is July 19th at 4:00 PM at Freeport Junior High Field in Freeport, PA and precedes the Freeport International Baseball Invitational. The showcase not only gives players a chance to demonstrate their talents, it gives them a chance to see how they compare to other players their age. It also gives the college coaches a chance to stay ahead in the recruiting game by seeing high school players.

Professional scouts will evaluate players for running speed, arm strength, pitching and fielding. Players will be timed in the 60-yard dash, and position players will be evaluated on arm strength, accuracy and fielding technique. Pitchers will throw against a radar gun and be evaluated on their delivery mechanics. The college coaches and professional scouts will then select a group of players to play in a mini-game.

The Freeport International Baseball Invitational is not a tournament. There are no trophies, no awards, no MVPs and no All-Stars. Everyone who participates–from the coaches and the players, to the concession stand workers and all the folks in the bleachers–all join in simply for the love of the game.

2010 Freeport Junior International Baseball Tournament

Who: Boys (ages 9 & 10) and (ages 11 & 12).
When: Thursday, Friday & Saturday, July 22 – 24, 2010. All players will be invited to attend the final Invitational game at the Freeport Borough Field to be recognized.
Where: (U9-10) S. Buffalo Elementary Field, Freeport, Pa. & Natrona Heights Fields, Natrona Heights, Pa. (U11-12) Furnace Run Field, Freeport, Pa. & Natrona Heights Fields, Natrona Heights, Pa.
Rules: Pony Baseball Rules. (U9-10) 60ft bases, no lead off/pick off. (U11-12) 70ft bases, lead off/pick off in effect.
Cost: $100 plus 6 baseballs per team. 3 games per team

2011 Application – Potter East Coast Baseball Tour

Below is an application form for next year’s tour. If you know of an individual who may be interested in being on the tour as a player, have them make out the form and get it back to me. That is the first step in being considered as a player on one of the 2011 Potter Baseball Tours.

Nothing has been finalized for next year as of yet, but some initial thoughts have been put together. There will probably be two tours next summer with two teams on each tour. The age group of the tours will probably be 13-u and 15-u on one tour and 14-u and 16-u on the other tour. One tour will run from June 22 – July 17 and the other tour will run from July 20 – August 14. We will probably travel through 5 states…Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Delaware and Virginia, along with Washington, D.C.

It could be bigger, involving other ages, other states, and other dates.

Applications are being sent in currently. We would like to select the teams as early as possible. One of the goals is to have each “tour town” represented on the tour team …………..but we will not be held up to put these teams together. If any interested party would like to speak to a player that participated on the tour this year, please let me know…and I will put you in touch with them.

We probably will bring back a few players from this year’s tour.

The same goes for any individual who would like to be part of the tour as a fan, bat boy, intern, vendor, etc…

The 2010 Potter Baseball Tour was amazing. Next year will be nothing but more amazing.
