Field Directions

Most families will be staying at motels/hotels along the Route 28 corridor, so directions will be given assuming you can get on that. The front desk at the motel can get you on Route 28 and direct you to go north or south, depending on which field you are going to. In alphabetical order, here are specific directions:

Freeport

Take Exit 16 or 17 and follow the sign directions into Freeport. As you go around and under the bridge that crosses the river, you will see the field in front of you. As soon as you swing right into town there is a Y intersection; you can go left and turn onto 2nd Street. Just before the Freeport Monument Works there is an alley that goes back to a fairly large parking area, big enough for buses, etc. It connects with the field. If you go to the right at the Y you will either have to find on street parking or try parking at the marina (turn right on High Street and go about one block) – the marina has a good many parking spots which should be available any day but Saturday. Freeport is a very small town and no matter where you park, you will only have to walk a block or two.

Ford City Field

On Route 28, take the Ford City exit. You will be on Route 66. Continue through the first light, to the second light at the top of the hill. At the second light, turn right at the Sheetz convenience store. Then take the first left on Neal Avenue to the field. The field is behind the football field.

Highlands High School Field

Take Route 28 to Exit 15. Turn onto Burtner Road and head up the hill, taking the second right onto Princeton Avenue. Turn right onto Freeport Road. Go through one light. At the next intersection, turn left onto Idaho Avenue (Lutheran Church on left, Presbyterian Church on right.) Go through 2 stop signs and onto school property. Bear to the right on the school driveway and around the high school, taking the first right into the parking lot. The field is at the end of the parking lot.

Kittanning Township

Take 28 north to the Kittanning and Indiana Exit right lane ramp to 422 East for 3 ½ miles on the four lane highway. After 3 ½ miles, take the Indiana exit on to 422 East (two lane road) for 2 miles to Graham Road on the left (Graham Road is on GPS) just past the Kittanning Township Fire Hall. Make a left on Graham Road, go 1/10 of a mile and make a left on Drifting Lane which is the first road on the left. Field Address is 13126 Route 422 East, Kittanning, PA.

Twin Cities (Valley Complex)

Take Route 28 to Exit 14 Tarentum. Make a left or right, depending on whether you were going south or north on 28 and head up the hill. Go through the first light and down the hill. You will see the Tarentum Bridge ahead of you. Cross the bridge; there is construction, but traffic moves well except around 5 p.m. At the third light (Taco Bell on right, BP gas station on left), make a right turn up the hill. Pass Golden Dawn Grocery Store and continue on to second light – Drey Street. Turn right on Drey head down the hill, cross the railroad tracks and continue until it ends at a T intersection. Make a left turn, field is on your right. Make a right at the next stop sign (18th Street) and there is parking to the left of the concession stand and on the street below the parking lot.

Natrona Heights Fields

Directions from Rt. 28 North (Pittsburgh) & South (  Kittanning)

  1. Take EXIT 15.  0.1 mi.
  2. Turn LEFT onto BURTNER RD (if traveling South on RT. 28). Turn RIGHT onto BURTNER RD (if traveling North on RT. 28).   0.4 mi
  3. Turn RIGHT onto DALLAS AVE.  0.5 mi
  4. Turn RIGHT onto FREEPORT RD.  0.4 mi
  5. Turn LEFT onto CALIFORNIA AVE.  0.3 mi
  6. Fields on Left.

Furnace Run Field

Directions from Rt. 28 North (Pittsburgh) & South (  Kittanning)

  1. Take EXIT 18 toward PA-128/SLATE LICK/NORTHPOINTE.  0.2 mi
  2. Merge onto FREEPORT RD/PA-128 toward FREEPORT.  1.8 mi
  3. Turn RIGHT onto FURNACE RUN RD.  1.1 mi
  4. Field on Left.

S. Buffalo Elementary Field

Directions from Rt. 28 North (Pittsburgh) & South (  Kittanning)

  1. Take EXIT 18 toward PA-128/SLATE LICK/NORTHPOINTE.  0.2 mi
  2. Merge onto FREEPORT RD/PA-128 toward FREEPORT.   4.5 mi
  3. 562 FREEPORT RD is on the LEFT.
