The Ultimate Fighter: The Baddy's Fall from Grace
In a recent interview, Mateusz Gamrot reflects on the controversial loss of Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324, where he faced Justin Gaethje for the interim lightweight title. Gamrot believes Pimblett's rise to fame and political influence overshadowed his technical skills, leading to his defeat.
"The Baddy" Pimblett, known for his durability, was ultimately battered for five rounds by Gaethje, who emerged victorious. Gamrot, who lost to Charles Oliveira in the UFC Fight Night 261 headliner, sees this as an opportunity to challenge Pimblett.
"I think now they've brought him back down to earth, and he'll be more accessible for other fighters," Gamrot says. "It would be a great situation if I could face him and get the chance to fight Paddy. It would be a great fight for me, but not necessarily for him. I think then I could verify all those gaps in his game."
Gamrot's previous attempts to challenge Pimblett have been met with resistance, but he remains optimistic about the potential showdown. The question remains: can Gamrot capitalize on Pimblett's recent setback and prove himself as a worthy contender?
